If you have a foundation shade that does not match you because you got too light/dark based on the season, look into a foundation that has the technology to match with your skin.
However, don’t think a foundation can replace a concealer- unless specified the two products work best when used for their specific purpose. I have built up some BB creams to this effect and trust me, if you apply light layers, blend them in and repeat you will be able to increase the coverage.
If you have a lighter foundation that you want to increase the coverage on, then build it up in layers, do not slap on a giant amount at once because thats when you’ll start getting the effect Rihanna explains ideally: cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, cake. Another great trick is to mix your foundation with your moisturizer to create your own tinted moisturizer, bb, cc, dd (i’m not even joking, i’ve seen a dd cream) cream. If you have a full coverage foundation that you typically reserve for winter months or evenings out, instead of finding a lighter coverage alternative think about investing in a beauty blender (which does a wonderful job of sheering out thicker foundations, giving you a second skin appearance) or look through your brush collection (duo fiber brushes tend to grab on to less product so to allow you to apply a thinner layer on your face).
The key is not to get different foundations, its to find different ways of applying it.
